This exhibition features new works inspired by books that explore the artists' perspectives on Japan, showcasing a range of artistic approaches from illustration to calligraphy.
Each artist selects a book and creates art inspired by it, exploring their unique perspective on Japan through illustrations, calligraphy, and other forms of artistic expression.
Adrian Hogan is based in Tokyo and has worked on a wide range of projects including magazines, advertisements, books, murals, and storyboards. Belinda Chim is based in Macao and is known for her pictorial calligraphy and educational initiatives. DLOP is a designer and artist from Osaka who has created artwork for various bands and festivals. Maki Shimano is a calligrapher and writer who fuses Eastern and Western calligraphy. Mikiko Amemiya is a dentist and artist who creates products and collaborations with businesses. Veronica Halim is a calligraphy artist from Jakarta with a creative studio. Kazuko Sakuma is a stationery concierge and artist based in Daikanyama.
