ヴァニタスの解剖
This exhibition focuses on universal themes of life and death, using traditional Vanitas motifs such as flowers, butterflies, skulls, and candles to reflect on the beauty and transience of life from her own perspective.
Oikawa explores visual ambiguity and shifts in perception, questioning the relationship between material and the act of seeing. She uses glass as a filter to blur focus and explore themes of 'invisible walls' and 'uncertain memories.'
Oikawa graduated from the Department of Crafts, specializing in Metal Casting, at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018, and completed her MFA in Glass at the Graduate School of Fine Arts in Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020. She has created artwork for singer-songwriter milet’s album and produced artworks for window displays at LUMINE locations.
