Dream Within a Dream

This show features eight works selected from his collection of negatives spanning 25 years since around 2000, marking Murakami’s Paris debut. The show follows the publication of his latest photobook by Zen Foto Gallery in October 2025.

Murakami’s photographs evoke the curious sensation of peering into someone else's daydream, with images that feel as if one were sinking beneath water, with blurred vision and muffled hearing.

Murakami was born in Tokyo in 1977. After graduating from university, he studied photography at Tokyo Visual Arts. Starting from 2008, he joined the editorial department of Nippon Camera magazine, while also beginning to edit books and photobooks for photographic artists. In 2021, he founded the company PCT and started running the website “Photo & Culture, Tokyo”, and in 2022, he became the editor-in-chief of the photography magazine Sha Shin (Fugensha).
