Install the app
on iphone/ipad: tap share ⎋ in safari, then “add to home screen”. zawa opens full-screen like an app.

the app is the same site, full-screen, with offline listings
Your stamps
stamps buy nothing, and nobody but you can see them — no ranking, no leaderboard. they are a record of your own gallery-going, and of who was here early. zawa is small; it will not always be. when there is something worth handing out — an invitation, a preview, a seat at something — we start with the people who were showing up while it was worth nothing. that is not a discount, and not a promise of one. it is a promise to remember. stamps cannot be bought, given away, or exchanged for anything.
Districts
districts where you have marked a show visited. tokyo's small spaces are the ones that need the visit — this is here to nudge you out of ginza.
Invite someone
······
membership is free, so an invitation costs the other person nothing. when someone joins on your link and starts using zawa, you get 25 stamps and they get 10. we never tell you who joined — only how many — and we never tell them you were counted.
Tell us about a show
zawa is only as good as the shows it knows about. tell us about one we are missing, or something we have wrong — a date that has changed, a venue that has closed. every one is read by a person: 15 stamps when a show goes in, 5 when a correction is applied.
What you are
so zawa can eventually be shaped around how you actually use it. shown to nobody else, changeable whenever, and nothing on the site is withheld or unlocked by it.
Home district
we email you when an opening reception or a new exhibition lands in your district. not sending yet — the alerts start soon.
Language
which language zawa opens in when you are signed in. you can always switch with the link in the footer.
District alerts & mailing list
turning this off stops every non-essential email at once. sign-in codes still arrive, because those are how you log in. every email we send carries the same one-click unsubscribe.
Anonymous usage stats
counts only — which pages get used, what people search for, whether the app works. never your identity, never your location, never sold, never shared. turning it off stops it immediately, on every device you sign in on. what we collect
Feedback / suggestions
goes straight to the editor's queue — everything gets read
