The artist

Shintaro Tanaka is known for his minimalistic paintings and sculptures, characterized by a sense of tension, and has had a significant influence on designers and architects.

Shintaro Tanaka was born in Tokyo in 1940 and was active in the post-war avant-garde art scene. He was involved in the Neo-Dada Organizers and has participated in numerous exhibitions and public art projects, including the 'Shikoku Art Triennale' and the 'Setouchi International Art Festival'. He passed away in 2019.
