Small Window
the exhibition presents the new 'Small Window' series, which explores multiple ways of seeing through the transformation of everyday images into paintings.
the artist generates alternative ways of seeing from private, closed images by creating digital collages from personal photographs, enlarging them on a computer screen, capturing screenshots, and then translating these images into paint to create works where multiple modes of vision unfold simultaneously.
Yumi Nakata graduated from Osaka University of Arts in 2006, completed her master's at Kyoto City University of Arts in 2009, and her doctoral course in oil painting in 2016.
