About this exhibition
The artist has been collecting mirrors and glass for the past year, influenced by experiences such as the severe winter in New York, and is presenting installation, three-dimensional, and two-dimensional works in this exhibition.
The artist
The artist creates works centered on people's lives, travel, and movement, with a focus on 'immigration/migration' in recent years, using broken glass and mirrors to express beauty and destruction, fear and hope.
Based in New York, Tamana Araki has been active since the 1990s, creating works in printmaking, sculpture, and installation. She held her first retrospective exhibition at the Tokyo Museum of Art in 2023.
