Antonio Saura was born in Huesca, Spain, and began studying law before moving to Madrid in the early 1950s to focus on painting. He spent time in Paris in the 1950s and developed a unique style involving layered paint and abstract expression. He created notable series such as 'Ladies,' 'Nudes,' and 'Dora Maar.' His work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Pompidou Center in Paris.
