the new series 'hiragana painting' explores the relationship between visual and verbal elements by combining the soft forms of hiragana characters into abstract paintings, and reinterpreting traditional Japanese painting techniques with modern sampling and remixing methods.

born in 1969 in Osaka, studied Japanese painting at Tama Art University and its graduate school, has been based in Tokyo since then, and has participated in numerous exhibitions including solo shows at Megumi Ogita Gallery and others in Taiwan and Japan.
