The artists

Takeshi Nagase carefully paints subtle signs of life, such as the warmth of skin, the light in the eyes, and the delicate trembling of flower petals, seeking to transform fundamental vitality into something visible.

Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1979; graduated from Tama Art University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Oil Painting Major in 2002; recipient of the Ichiro Fukuzawa Prize; completed graduate studies in painting at Tama Art University in 2004; held 10 solo exhibitions from 2005 to 2016.
