The artist
As a painter of light and wind, he has created many works that have brought comfort to many art fans with his soothing style.
Born in Kumamoto City in 1946. Made his debut with the picture book 'Boku no Benchi ni Shiroi Tori' in 1973. Won the Bologna International Children's Book Fair Graphic Award for 'Kaze to Hyō' in 1990. Opened the Hayashimaru Art Museum in Kamakura in 1991. Opened the Hayashimaru Aso Highland Picture Book Art Museum in 2002. Illustrated the book 'Kimi no Hana o Kudasai' and 'Irukana no Hoshi' among others.
