Still, shimmering light

This exhibition presents a comprehensive overview of Tada’s nearly seventy-year career, including early paintings, sculptures from various periods, lighting works, and archival materials.

Tada incorporated industrial materials and fabrication technologies into her artistic expression, emphasizing smooth, inorganic surfaces and integrating organic elements such as light’s reflection, transmission, refraction, and fluctuation.

Tada produced approximately 200 sculptural pieces and 500 works integrated into architectural spaces over her career. She established Minami Tada Associates in 1962 and received numerous awards, including the Order of the Precious Crown, Wistaria (1994).
