The artist

Drawing on emotions and memories that unexpectedly surface in everyday life, Shikura paints scenes in which these moments intertwine with the movements of the inner self. The artist engages thoughtfully not only with positive experiences but also with negative emotions, unfolding the intricate folds of the heart in search of its transparent layers.

Born in Chiba Prefecture in 2001, Shikura Toka graduated from the Oil Painting Course in the Department of Painting at Tama Art University in 2024 and completed the Master’s Program in Oil Painting in the Graduate School of Art and Design at Tama Art University in 2026.
