The artist
Han Youngsoo captured the changing urban landscapes and daily lives of people in Seoul with a unique perspective, focusing on the traces of war, the new cityscape, and the coexistence of tradition and modernity.
Han Youngsoo was active as a photographer from the 1950s to the 1960s, and established the Han Youngsoo Photo Institute in 1966. His works have been exhibited and collected internationally, including at the International Center of Photography (ICP) and Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
