About this exhibition
This exhibition focuses on the invisible elements between people, between past and present, and between chance and choice, highlighting the quiet margins within oneself and between others.
The artist
Starting from accidental blots and shapes, U-ku builds the canvas by layering his own choices. The flicker between what unexpectedly emerges and what is deliberately chosen overlaps with our past experiences and current self.
Born in 1989 in Hyogo Prefecture, graduated from Kobe Jogakuin University. Held first solo exhibition in 2016, exhibited at places such as Matsuya Ginza and POLA MUSEUM ANNEX, won the Grand Prize at the 11th 'Origin of Beauty' Exhibition in 2023, and the Best Prize at the 3rd Japan Literary Art Competition in 2021.
