The artist
Based on her experiences, she explores themes such as the relationship between parents and children, marital relationships, and the social roles of women, using the language of television and melodrama.
Mako Idemitsu (1940–) is a pioneering figure in experimental film and video art in Japan. She began creating works in the 1960s after living in the United States and has continued to explore themes related to gender and social roles.
