theme Anansi’s Boat
The artist continues to explore the energy of forms derived from materials and encountered objects, expanding her artistic expression beyond weaving into other mediums such as copper etchings.
The artist does not begin by deciding in advance what to create. She senses through what appears before her, using it as a clue. She weaves cotton thread around driftwood and other natural materials, creating forms that express the memories within the materials and the traces of the artist’s hand.
